Mom came to visit

She arrived this afternoon, and I made dinner for us. We ate together and talked... talked... talked. We went to the neighbors' house and played Peanuts with them. At the end of the game, we did a "play off all the cards in your deck" round. In the final seconds, Mom and I each had one card. It was the same card - the 8 of Spades. She beat me.

She got sleepy before I did. I got her a towel, fixed the bed. After she showered we talked for a few minutes. I kissed her goodnight and turned out the light.

It all felt backwards.
