Ok. It has to be the plant’s fault
that it doesn’t grow or bloom.
Look at the soil that we gave it.
That should be just enough room
for roots the size that we imagine.
And we water just as much
as we expect the plant should want.
This temperamental plant is such
a fragile thing. We give it warmth and light
as often as we think it ought
to want; we give it space as bright
as we like. It’s just not
our fault this plant isn’t surviving.  
It’s defective, would be thriving
if it only would accept
that we are wiser
we know better
and it has all that it needs.
But if it doesn't - well, remember,
there are always other plants.
